Work Permit Requirement for Business Meetings to Change

Work Permit Requirement for Business Meetings to Change

19 November – An exception to the work permit requirement exists for limited business meetings that require travel to the Netherlands.

The duration during which one can currently stay in the Netherlands to attend business meetings is limited to a total of four weeks per quarter (13 weeks). This is set to change into a total of 13 uninterrupted weeks in any 52-week period. We expect this change to take effect on 1 January 2014.

We advise business travelers to be very cautious when travelling to the Schengen area to do business without a work permit. Performing work without the necessary permit can lead to a fine or exclusion from the Netherlands in the future.
