No MVV visa required for 2 extra categories of migrants

As of 1 October 2015, 2 extra categories of migrants no longer need mvv-visa to travel to the Netherlands:

  1. Migrants who file an application through their recognized sponsor in the Netherlands and hold a valid residence permit within the Schengen area.
This exemption is applicable to Highly Skilled Migrants, scientific researchers, paid employees, students and participants of exchange programs. Family members who reside with the migrant in the other Schengen country are also no longer required to hold mvv-visa to travel to the Netherlands.
  2. Migrants who have a valid residence permit for another EU country and who wish to perform cross border services for a period longer than 90days. The migrant can either be self-employed or employed by a service provider.
